The Schones Family (Tyler, Kendra, Judah, Josiah, and Berean)

profile 2 We (Tyler and Kendra) are servants of God who simply desire to love God with our lives and allow
Him to use us however He sees fit to glorify Himself and build His kingdom. "Now to Him who is able
to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to
Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen" (Eph.3:20-21 NKJV)

Home - Papua New Guinea - Prayer Requests

Praise God that He listens to those who pray according to His will. The Spirit of God desires to inspire our prayers through which God can work and move!

1. Wisdom

Many people ask us what our plan is. Well, we plan to obey the Lord. He sees what He wants done and He knows exactly how to accomplish His vision. We are praying for His guidance and revelation, and as He imparts vision to us we are willing and ready to walk in it. Please pray that God would impart His wisdom to us to know how He wants to use us. Some specifics include:

A.) Which village are we to live in? There are 3 main villages separated by about 10-15 miles

              •  My greatest burden has been for one man David Pilak and his family who were one of my hosts in the village of Kinticue.

B.) What are we to bring with us?

              • We desire to live like the people yet also serve the people. Which things that we have would be a blessing and which would be a hindrance? Example: A computer could be very beneficial for translation and communication back to the States, but this would require setting up solar power and could be a hindrance.

C.) How are we to approach certain customs?

              • Some customs are not wrong, others contradict scripture, some are beneficial for the gospel and others...well we just don't know. We need guidance by God to know exactly how to react towards their customs.

D.) Which practical needs for them would be a blessing and which a hindrance?

              • For example they do not have the best drinking water sources. Would helping to put in a well be a blessing?
              • Other areas that we might initially think would be a blessing could turn out just the opposite and actually hinder the gospel.
              • We want to walk in love but not promote materialism.

E.) There are many more areas. Please pray as the Holy Spirit directs you. He promises to give wisdom to them that ask Him!

2. The Bulu People

      • Against the spiritual darkness.
      • That God would open their eyes to the light of Christ's message.
      • They would allow us to live with them.

3. The Laborers

      • That those laboring in this would have greater burden for the glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom.
      • That they would get more specific burden for the ministry in PNG.
      • That they would learn how to pray according to the will of God.
      • That they would allow God to prepare them for future usefulness.
      • That they would learn to be yielded vessels emptied of self, and ready for His Spirit to pour through.

4. Pray for More Laborers

      • Praise God for recently raising up more servants to pray.
      • Praise God for recently leading Josh Nibler to go with us.
      • Praise God for the administrative help of Stan and Teresa Avery.
      • Praise God for financial supporters.
      • Pray for more...that God would awaken hearts to serve Him not only in this ministry but wherever He wants to use them!

5. Visa Applications

      • We are currently in a process of setting up an association within PNG which is required by the government for us to obtain visas. We are working with an immigration agent who is very helpful. We need guidance and wisdom through all this and also for God to open the doors for us to go. After this is accomplished we can apply for our visas.

6. Financial Provision

      • There is considerable initial costs to getting to PNG and setting up our homes.
