“Many times Hindu radicals entered the church and drove the believers out, and they have beaten the pastor many times.”

Greetings in Jesus name.

We are so glad to share with you through this report. Our almighty God has been doing great things in our ministry field. Last month God enabled us to do an Outreach Ministry in different villages around 4 areas. God did great things through our team members. Hundreds of hindu religious and Roman Catholics were evangelized through this, and the truth of the Gospel was shared with them. Many of them were encouraged through the word of God.

On the first day of our ministry we prayed together for half an hour in the morning. After that we went to nearly six villages under the leadership of the local pastor, where we shared the Gospel through gospel songs, skits, tracts and messages. A few youths in that local church are involved with us in the ministry, and they were very active in doing the ministry. In these villages most of the people are Roman Catholics. Many of them requested our prayers, and we prayed for them. That evening we showed a film in a village called ‘Pettaikulam’. About 100 people gathered and received the Gospel truths through the film and were blessed.

The next morning the local church had a gathering, and all our team members involved in the church activities and the meeting were blessed. In the afternoon we visited four villages and in the evening we showed a film again. Many people gathered eagerly and were touched by the Gospel truths in the film. In the end we prayed for many people who requested prayer.

God enabled us to visit nearly eight villages on the next day. When we entered into one village, we heard the news that a person died. We went to that house and encouraged them through prayer. The village called ‘Thathuaneri’ is a hindu village and we couldn’t do the gospel program because of the opposition. Instead we went to some of the houses where our local pastor had prayed for their sickness in a previous visit. We heard an amazing testimony of a grandma who had a mental disorder was completely recovered. Now she is going to work. We shared this testimony with many people who opposed us before we left that village.

That evening we conducted a gospel program in a village called ‘Anaikudi’. It was raining when we started the program. The miracle was that about 70 people gathered and heard the gospel, even though it was raining. Nearly 20 people who were suffering from different diseases came forward and requested our prayers. God did wonderful things through this ministry. Later in the evening we showed a film in a village called ‘Rajammalpuram’. There many people gathered in the midst of some opposition. A man who was fully drunk entered into the crowd and made a lot of noise, but by the grace of God the program was not stopped.

God enabled our team members to move to another area on the next day. There Pastor Daniel led us to many villages to share the Gospel. Most of the villages are hindu dominated and we entered with the Gospel truths in the midst of much opposition. God helped us to do the door to door ministry here, and we visited many houses and shared the truths with many families. God has spoken to many of the family members directly about their family situations and some of them tearfully accepted Christ as their Saviour and requested our earnest prayer. Many people promised us that they will come church. We met a particular family who had always been against the local church, and we shared the Gospel truths with them. Sadly, their hearts were too heavy to accept the Gospel truths. In the evenings we showed the film, and many people were eagerly gathered to see the Gospel film and were touched by the gospel truths. In most of the villages, large number of children gathered to see the programs. One of our team members who was skilled in showing simple tricks gathered them and shown that in order to attract them and shared the Gospel truth through those tricks. Children were filled with joy and eagerly accepted the Gospel truths. Gods name was glorified greatly. In one village named ‘Pudukulam’ people did not allow us to show the Gospel film, so we moved to another Christian village. At the end of that film many people requested our prayers eagerly.

We then went to visit the place called Kanyakumari. We had two hours of relaxation at the beach, then we continued our ministry to a place called ‘Thiruvarambu’. Here we stayed in a church which is still facing lot of tribulations. It is a hindu dominated area. The church had once been dismantled by the hindu fanatics and it was reconstructed again for the benefit of the Gospel, but the works are incomplete. Many times Hindu radicals entered the church and drove the believers out, and they have beaten the pastor many times. This church is in a desperate need of completion, as well as a wall for the safety of the believers. Hindus built a temple against this church in the government land near to this church to show their opposition.

In this area God enabled us to visit nearly six villages. Most of the people are hindu. We divided our team members into two and visited most of the hindu families and shared the Gospel with them. Some of them shared their needs and problems with us and we prayed for them. A few people promised us that they would come church. We heard the good news that on the next Sunday four new members were added to this local church.

On that evening, there was a meeting in that church of all our team members involved in that church activities. The meeting was a great blessing. Nearly 20 people gathered and were blessed. At the end we prayed for many people who were sick, and they were encouraged. After this meeting we prepared for the film showing, but because of the rainy weather we could not show it in public. Instead, we showed it inside that church. Fewer people watched the film, but they were blessed.

The next day there was fasting and prayer in that church. After the meeting we could visit only two more villages because of the rain. In one of the villages, while we were visiting the houses, the mother of a family requested prayer for her brother. He had worked against that local church, and was one of the people who helped destroy the church building. Since then he was suffering from a lot of loss in his family, and he did not allow her to attend the church, even though she wanted to. We prayed for her and encouraged her through the word of God. She has a strong faith that her whole family will come to the Lord.

In another village called ‘Ambankalai’ God helped us to conduct the Gospel program. There 250 people from different religious gathered and watched the Gospel drama eagerly. The people received 15 full bibles after the Gospel program. That same evening, at the request of those villagers, we showed the film named ‘Karmam’. Nearly 200 people gathered and watched the film. After the film many people came forward for prayer and we prayed for them.

On the next day God helped us to visit another area under the leadership of pastor Christhudhas. There most of the people were Roman Catholics. The pastor had arranged 21 days of fasting and prayer after our Gospel program.  We entered into many of the surrounding villages and shared the Gospel truths through drama and tracts and at the end of that we announced the fasting prayer for their deliverance. In most of the villages we visited their houses. We prayed for their families and invited them for the fasting and prayer. In the evening we showed films in the needy villages and shared the Gospel through that. People from different religious gathered with great joy and were blessed.  Then the next morning there was Sunday service in that local church and all of us were involved in that service. We had opportunities to preach, lead the worship and to share our testimonies. The meeting was blessed and the people who gathered were encouraged through the activities.

The next day was the beginning of the 21 days fasting prayer and people gathered eagerly. All the members of our team were in charge for that first day’s activities. The prayer was a great blessing for the people who participated.

Thus the last month ministry was a great blessing and all our team members enjoyed in doing the ministry. God protected all of us from sickness and strengthened us to do His will in the villages. Around 50 villages were visited and Gospel truths were shared through Gospel dramas, films and tracts. 40 full bibles and many new testaments were received by the villagers in the ministry field. God protected our vehicle, and He enabled the driver to drive carefully in the streets of the villages. Some times our speaker systems had problems, but we repaired it on the way. So God was the leader and guider in the ministry area to win souls for the extension of His kingdom.

May God bless us and help us to hear more than that we are hearing now

May the name of the Lord be glorified through these ministries. Amen!

Yours in His ministry,

Shajin Persis
